Under Pressure, You Don't
Rise to the Occasion

You fall to your training. For most owners that level is a few boxes of ammo a year.

A plan is not a skill. A firearm in a safe you've never drawn from under stress is still a guess.

Most never train past the range. No malfunctions cleared, no movement, no work without a gun in hand.

Why train with John

Training Built Around You

Every session is private, hands-on, and built around where you are right now.

  • Start wherever you are. First time holding a firearm or twenty years of carrying, the session meets you there.
  • Train where it matters. Instruction built around your home, your routine, and how you actually live.
  • Learn from someone who has done it. 40 years teaching these skills to airmen, police officers, and SWAT operators.
  • Leave with skills, not just range time. Drills repeated until the response happens without thinking.

I Don't Teach Fear.
I Teach Awareness.

Most people who own a firearm want to be responsible with it and have never been shown what that actually takes. The goal is never to make you tactical. It's to make sure that if the worst happens, your hands already know what to do.

  • U.S. Air Force Combat Arms Instructor and certified firearms instructor
  • Retired Police Sergeant and former SWAT Team Leader, 17 years on the team
  • 2012 Black Belt Magazine Instructor of the Year and Hall of Fame inductee, recognized Grandmaster in Combative Arts
  • Helped the Florida Department of Law Enforcement rewrite the state's Defensive Tactics Program
What training covers

Train Until It's Automatic

This isn't a class you sit through. It's hands-on instruction, one-on-one or with your family, that builds real capability in the order it should be built: safety and fundamentals first, then live fire, then the things that go wrong, then what happens when you can't reach a firearm at all. You leave knowing what you would do, because you've already done it.

01

Firearms Safety and Fundamentals

The four basic rules, how your firearm works, and shooting fundamentals built through dry fire, so every skill starts with total control.

02

Live Fire and Reloads

Live fire from the holster at increasing distance, paired with speed and tactical reload drills, so the motion becomes automatic under pressure.

03

Malfunction Clearance

Drills for the malfunctions that actually happen, so a jam becomes a two-second fix instead of a moment of panic.

04

Movement and Cover

How to get off the X and work from cover, because standing still is not a plan.

05

Self-Defense and De-escalation

De-escalation, open-hand striking, ground defense, and defending or drawing from a compromised position, for the moments a firearm isn't the answer.

Private sessions for individuals, couples, families, or small groups. Scheduled around you, at a range and location arranged with you.

If you own a firearm and you're not sure you'd be ready to use it, on-site training is the right next step.

Preparation is what beats fear

The Difference Between Hoping and Knowing

Owning a firearm isn't the same as being ready to use one. That's okay. Most training stops at target practice. John trains you on-site, from firearms fundamentals to hands-on self-defense, until the response is automatic. You start with safety and control, move into live fire and reloads, work through the malfunctions and the movement most owners never practice, and finish with what to do when a firearm isn't the answer at all. Stop hoping you'd react. Start knowing you're trained. You act without hesitating, and everyone you love makes it home.
